Anna Valerious & Dr. Gabriel Van Helsing
Anna Valerious and Dr. Gabriel Van Helsing are two fictional characters in the 2004 movie, Van Helsing. Van Helsing is a hunter of evil, and Anna is a princess, one of the last of the Valerious line. Van Helsing is sent to help Anna and her brother, Velkan, destroy Dracula and his Brides.
At first, Anna wants to destroy Dracula herself, believing that she must be the one to do it. Soon she and Van Helsing begin to spend time together, and grow feelings for one another. They fall in love, and share a wonderful moment before Van Helsing leaves.
When Van Helsing has defeated Dracula, Anna and Carl must inject him with the antidote that will turn him back into a human from his werewolf state. Van Helsing jumps upon Anna and throws her back, and Carl rushes to inject him. As he turns back, he grabs Anna and holds her. She is gone, and Van Helsing's heart is crushed.
Van Helsing and Carl have a funeral for Anna, and as the smoke rises into the air, Van Helsing sees Anna's face smiling at him from Heaven. He has broken the curse upon her family, and they are able to enter Heaven. With this, Van Helsing and Carl set off.
